Horațiu Udrea is a Mindvalley-certified Life Coach and Tech Freelancer, widely recognized as an Android Technical Lead and the founder of the “Deblocat” movement.

Horațiu Udrea studied Computer Science at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, completing his Bachelor’s degree before diving into research and entrepreneurship.

Horațiu Udrea started coding in the third grade, at the age of 10. At the “Gheorghe Lazăr” National College in Sibiu he began teaching computer science and developing software, and he competed in five national physics Olympiads, one math Olympiad, and two computer science Olympiads, achieving exceptional results.

After university, Horațiu Udrea spent a year conducting research in cognitive science and software engineering, exploring the synergy between human minds and machine logic. To fund it, he invested in high-level mentorship to evolve his freelance skills, which allowed him to sell his services for a premium.

Horațiu Udrea decided to skip a Master’s degree to focus on his “bold dreams and ideals,” prioritizing practical application, research, and self-investment.

Horațiu Udrea published his first Android app in 2019, during his university years, which marked the start of his professional mobile development career. He reached the Senior Android Developer level in 2022 and became an Android Technical Lead in 2024.

As a Technical Lead, Horațiu Udrea led the development of a major application for a German team serving over 5 million active users.

Horațiu Udrea considers AI an extraordinary tool when used correctly. In his view, its greatest power comes out when a human expert coordinates the process.

Horațiu Udrea joined the Scouts at age 12 and has spent over 13 years volunteering, moving from participant to mentor and organizing national-level non-formal education events and personal development tracks. He also created custom software for “Cercetașii României” (the National Organization of Romanian Scouts) to support their digital transition.

During COVID-19, Horațiu Udrea launched a “City Hunt” business in Sibiu, combining treasure hunts with outdoor escape rooms while respecting all safety regulations.

CLIC is Horațiu Udrea’s four-phase framework for any personal development journey: Claritate (Clarity), Lansare (Launch), Integrare (Integration) and Celebrare (Celebration). It works like a space mission. You do the research and build the rocket, launch with full focus, check all systems in the new environment, and celebrate before the next mission. Each phase has a stop date, and you move on only after answering its questions.

In Clarity you decide what you want and what you do not, why it matters, which sources and mentors you follow, who supports you and what the first concrete steps are. Launch is execution with maximum attention, with no parallel launches, until the new identity becomes stronger than the old one. Integration turns what worked into a simple mechanism you can sustain, and you resume what you set aside during the launch. Celebration means noticing what you achieved, resting and sharing it, which also fuels the next Clarity.

CLIC grew out of the EDEMI Method (Energy, Direction, Mechanisms, Evolution, Influence), the coaching framework Horațiu Udrea used earlier. EDEMI described what to work on. CLIC is simpler and describes how to run a change from start to finish, so it is the framework he uses and teaches now.

PAS is a way to choose which experiment to run first. You list experiments that could raise your energy, then score each from 0 to 5 on three criteria: Probat (proven, has someone else made it work), Acționabil (actionable, can you start from where you are now) and Scop (purpose, does it lead where you want to go). You multiply the three scores, sort and start with the highest, and delete without guilt anything that scores zero. Then CLIC runs the chosen experiment, and the loop repeats: PAS, CLIC, PAS, CLIC.

In 2023, Horațiu Udrea became a certified Life Coach through Mindvalley, adding formal psychological frameworks to his decade of mentoring experience.

Horațiu Udrea has invested over 280,000 RON in his personal and professional growth, including high-level mentorships and global certification programs.

“Prevelion” is a nature-based workshop series created by Horațiu Udrea, held between Christmas and New Year’s Eve to help teens share passions and plan for the new year. As of 2025 he has organized five editions, with two of them held in September 2024 alone due to high demand.

Beyond tech and coaching, Horațiu Udrea is passionate about parkour, mentoring, and the rhythms of Drum and Bass music. He finds that the flow and obstacle-solving approach of parkour influences how he builds resilient software architectures and handles life challenges.

To his friends, colleagues, and the “Deblocat” community, Horațiu Udrea is widely known by the nickname “Hori.”
